Capital One 360 - Review in Banks category
Misleading acct.info for a credit card.
New P2P "service" at CapitalOne360 is TERRIBLE
I have been a longtime customer with CapitalOne360 (even since before it was CapitalOne, ING Direct) and used the ACH money transfer to make personal payments with no problems for years. Sometime in the past six months or so they rolled out another money transfer system, still called "P2P' but it takes you our of CapitalOne's website to a third-party site.
This new "service" is just terrible: takes forever to access/sign in, you can't schedule a transfer for a later date so you have to go to the site on the same day you want the money to transfer, and it seems that nearly every time I try to use it the site is not working properly or is undergoing "maintenance," or some such.
The old standard ACH money transfer was so easy to use and worked great, this new system just sucks and I'm quite disappointed in CapitalOne for sending its customers to such a poorly designed and barely functioning third-party site just to do something as simple as a bank transfer! Thinking of closing my accounts with CapitalOne.
Preferred solution: Go back to standard, simple ACH transfers!
CANNOT ACCESS MY $!!!!! Cap One 360 P2P Portal Doesn't Open
I have been an avid supporter of Capital One since 2005 (when it was ING), recommending dozens of people. Their P2P system was awesome until they changed it.
Now, the portal does not open while online viewing your other accounts. There is a message "We are sending you to the P2P Payment Portal," but the spinning circle will continue for 10 minutes with no access to the portal. They recommend you log onto yet another site to send the funds. Why a separate site?
If I have to look at balances, I need to close out & go back to the site with my balances. Spoke with customer service who insisted it was my computer blocking pop-ups. Incorrect. A Cap One manager could not get it to work on his computer or app.
They say it is submitted to IT, but it has been a week and still no response. Why does CapOne think they can hold hostage your funds?
After HOURS on the phone with Cap One, they finally told me about this separate site. Considering pulling my accounts & going to Ally, Discover or Synchrony.
- Funds in one place
Preferred solution: FIX THE P2P SITE!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS YOUR CUSTOMERS' $, NOT YOURS!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I opened an account
Cap1-360 was recommended for international use. Meanwhile I live in this country and they hold deposits and transfers way too long.
Over a week for their fancy check by photo app. Then over a week for a simple bank to bank transfer. Then I set up an automatic deposit from my normal account to the youth money account for Mondays, the money is available on the Thursday. (my kid said his allowance got pushed back to the end of the week) So I transferred my money right back out to a real bank.
They cashed my CapitolOne 360 check in half the time it took to make the deposit. Sorry I had anything to do with them.
Preferred solution: drop the excessive hold times. Make funds availalbe at 21st centuray speeds
Inexplicable behavior
Capital One 360 Customer Care Review
Same story as others, and boy, am I angry at this bank!
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
Capital One 360 Sucks
After waiting on hold for over 90 minutes I was able to speak to someone who I asked to close my accounts. He told me the accounts would close and the money would be transferred in one business day.
Nothing happened. 2 days later, I'm on hold now going on 60 minutes and still can't speak to someone. I had several accounts until someone attempted to *** into my account and now Capital One has put a hold on my accounts and all of my money and I can't even speak to anyone because they "are working on hiring more people." Are you kidding me you are a national flipping bank.
I had a checking account and a few savings accounts that I was going to cancel, but now I will be rolling over my IRA, closing my credit card, selling my stock, and ceasing my business relationship with Capital One. This is the worst experience I have had since I called the phone/cable company.
- I miss the way it was
- Wasting time
- Dishonesty
Preferred solution: Full refund
Capital One 360 - Checking Account Review
I have been a member since 2004. Back when it was ING Direct.
Loved this bank. A person would answer when you called. Not anymore. They put my account on hold because I had recently updated my address and attempted a p2p, person to person payment.
To my mother. In house transfer I've made over 100 times. They did this late on Saturday night when I was 100 miles away from home and fulling up gas. I mean trying to fill up gas.
With my money.
I had to wait all night until they opened. Then I had 2 phone calls that summed over 3 hours before I could access my own money and go home.

Capital One is garbage. I long for the days of ING.
Now they changed the whole website and it's terrible. Plus, there's no option for a check ledger for paper checks.
And no option for image upload to deposit a check from a computer.
Although regarding my last complaint, customer service told me it will be available in the future. But the whole interface is designed for a phone not a computer now, so it doesn't give enough info on each screen.
I agree, the P2P System is horrible and does not work most of the time, keep getting something is wrong error " So Helpful"
Please fix Capital One or moving to another bank.
