Capitalone360 decided to freeze my for No apparent valid reason. They wanted to close my account while money is on hold. I was told that they will close my account & return my money in 10 days, after 3 weeks I'm still waiting for my money.

This sounds like my story. I used to be able to send someone money very easily, especially when the other person had a Capital One account. Now they tell me that Capital One is NOT the same bank as Capital One 360, and the recipient must have a Capital One 360 account in order to use the money transfer option. How *** is that?!? I have been a member since 2004. Back when it was ING Direct. Loved this bank. A person would answer when you called. Not anymore. They put my account on hold because I had recently updated my address and attempted a p2p, person to person payment. To my mother. In house transfer I've made over 100 times. After waiting on hold for over 90 minutes I was able to speak to someone who I asked to close my accounts. He told me the accounts would close and the money would be transferred in one business day. Nothing happened. 2 days later, I'm on hold now going on 60 minutes and still can't speak to someone. Wow. I called them today as I have had 2 rent checks returned stating that there was a hold on the account so I called as there is no brick and mortar bank to go to for help. All I kept being told was they could not help me and all I needed to know was if the hold would be lifted so I would not be charged every time I deposited these checks and they were returned. Six calls this week, 4 of them just this morning. On hold a total of 3 hours 15 min today after being transferred from someone answering the phone at call center to someone who can answer questions about hold on deposits. This has happened each time I called. Why have someone answer the calls that cannot answer questions? I don't have all day to hold on the phone. This is ridiculous and I will be closing my account. My friend wrote me a check that I deposited via the mobile app to CapOne. My friends bank confirmed that they have already released the funds to my CapOne account but CapOne is still holding onto the money and will not credit my account. Been banking at Capital One for years. Never had any problems until I applied for their credit card. Now all my accounts are frozen due to Capital One still linking me to an old account that drafts can from and paid on the credit card. Never knew you had to always check you account numbers because the bank will change them at random. Went to a local branch on hwy 59 where I usually bank and the manager there asked me to apply for a credit card.... Read more
