Been banking at Capital One for years. Never had any problems until I applied for their credit card.

Now all my accounts are frozen due to Capital One still linking me to an old account that drafts can from and paid on the credit card. Never knew you had to always check you account numbers because the bank will change them at random. Went to a local branch on hwy 59 where I usually bank and the manager there asked me to apply for a credit card. I closed all my credit cards years ago and only use a check card.

We are medically retired and didn't want the temptation to go into debt. After we received the credit card we had to figure out how to access it through the internet. We had to call customer service for assistance to access the different accounts as well as add another phone app. We made a payment from the computer then had to go out of town so we made a few more payments from our phone through the new app.

Well we didn't know the bank was still linking me to a old account I was removed from two years ago. A few of the payments were drafted from the wrong account. The bank was notified and a investigation was opened. Once the detective figured out the bank did NOT remove me from the old account he closed the case.

It was not intentional that the funds were being drafted from the wrong account. The bank states we had to know the account numbers and manually input them into the account. Funny how all we did was enter our information and the bank did the rest by pulling up all the accounts. The froze all our accounts and closed our credit card.

While trying to sort this out we called every number we could find for Capital One and were constantly getting the run around. Not one person we spoke to could give us any answers or help us. We were directed to contact a detective handling the case. Once we spoke with him he closed the case and faxed Capital One asking them to release the accounts.

We are not trying to show fault but to fix the problem. The bank wants us to shoulder all blame as well as label us a committing FRAUD! Drove to the local branch on hwy 59 and the manager there was extremely rude. He really needs to have training on when to SHUT UP!

He was asked several times to stop accusing us of any wrongdoing and he continued with accusations throughout the entire conversation. I find it very unprofessional and childish.

Seriously considering a lawyer and filing a complaint.
