To Whom it may concern
I am a loyal customer of Capital One. I had a car loan with Capital One and had an accident, in which my insurance did not pay off the full balance of the car. I knew that I was going to have a balance due and had anticipated on paying the balance. Due to the fact is that I have never been late on a payment and I always pay my debts.
After calling the Total loss department to discuss what option I had in order to pay the loan in full. They stated that in order for me not to have a write-off on my credit I would have to pay the balance of $9100.00 off in 152 days or it would go into write-off status or I could get it financed out for 3yrs for a monthly payment of $253.00, but it would still be considered a write-off. If they did the 3 years that it would be considered an unsecured loan. I know lending institutions make unsecure loans all day.
Thatโs sound like double jeopardy to me crap if you do and crap if you donโt. I feel like that would really be hurting me as a consumer and a person thatโs willing to pay her debt. I wouldnโt feel obligated to pay a debt that is going to show on my credit as a write-off and at the same time I am willing to pay the debt in full.
I am seeking an alternative solution to this situation. I would love to pay the debt off and have my credit clear, but I am not willing to pay the balance off and still have it harm my credit. I am hoping that we could come to a solution that would benefit Capital One and myself. The solutions at hand are not fair to a consumer or customer that is willing to pay what they owe. I am just seeking a solution that want hurt my credit. I am a consumer that had a car accident!! Is willing to pay the balance that's due.
Sincerely Yours
